Political Structure
The structure of the government is similar to system in the United States in that it is divided into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. The Constitution established the separation of powers between these three branches similar to the United States checks and balances concept.
Mayor political parties
In Costa Rica there are national presidential and
legislative elections every four years. Costa Rica is a multi-party
system with around thirteen parties. The three main political parties
are the Social Christian Unity Party (PUSC), the National Liberation
Party (PLN), and the Citizen Action Party (PAC). PUSC is a Christian
democratic party whose colors are blue and red. PLN is a social
democratic party whose colors are green and white. PAC is a reformist
part but not completely left whose colors are red and yellow.
Economy
Besides tourism, real
estate, and agriculture many business have and continue to settle in
Costa Rica investment and foreign friendly nation. The Service
Industries experience the greatest growth in recent years due to a
relatively highly educated but cheaper labor force than in the United
States for example.
